Driving home last night from work and I figured I'd get gas. The station I usually get from, Shell, was $3.42 per gallon!!! Across the street at the Mobil station it was $3.31 so I went over there to get gas. Even though my tank wasn't empty, it still cost me $38 to fill it. This morning the prices were still the same, but the Mobil should be up atleast 10 cents more tonight. I'll have to wait until Thursday morning to find out due to today being comic book day and my not driving by those two gas stations.

The extended trailer for Superman Returns is now available for viewing. I've watched it twice and I'm still not sold on this kid. I was ecstatic at one point with stills I saw of Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, but there's one part of the clip where he does an almost Gene Hackman esque line. The whole thing feels almost like a Toby McGuire version of Clark/Superman. Watch the trailer and you might see what I mean.

That's about it for now. Lots of stuff to do so Later.

I've been meaning to write this past week, but haven't really known what to say. It was an odd and tough week last week. A woman who works here's husband passed away the Sunday before last during a morning basketball game. He was 30 years old and been playing every Sunday for the past 3-4 years. A few of the guys from work also played and were there when he passed out and then didn't regain consciousness. The wakes were held this past Wednesday and Thursday while the funeral service and burial were on Friday. I did attend the service in support of my coworker and I applaud and respect the strength she and both families displayed. My thoughts and sympathies are with them.

Okay, first gas prices at the Shell station near my house were $3.22 for regular economy unleaded. I hope Mr. Bush got a look at gas prices as he traveled around CA the last couple days, especially the ones across the street from John Wayne International (SNA) where Air Force One took off from after his immigration conference today.

Next!!! Got a call from Geico this afternoon. Of course I have to think the worst and it turns out it was merely a courtesy call stating that the woman who struck my vehicle was claiming injuries now. I asked my Geico claims person a few questions just because I do like to be informed and the answers were neutral. The woman is claiming more injuries including chest injuries that amount to soft tissue damage. She's been x-ray'd and such and is in therapy for her 'injuries'. I mentioned to Geico what I didn't tell the officer who took my statement at the accident which was the profanity she used and the repeated pounding of her steering wheel after the accident. The insurance rep mentioned that she was taken to the hospital which I confirmed and I also told him that she initially refused until the officer or ambulance showed up on scene and only mentioned her neck as being a little sore. The Geico rep did say he had already dealt with the woman 3 times on the phone already today and said she is 'quite a handful' and did curse him out as well. Wait, it gets better! Through the course of the conversation with my Geico rep I gathered some more information and it turns out she hasn't had her car repaired yet because she just finally got Geico the information needed. We spoke some more and I asked a few more questions and one had to do with accident severity or s omething. I asked him how accidents are rated and how this one could be 'major' and have major damage, injuries, etc. if airbags didn't deploy? Airbags deploy at speeds above 30MPH. He stated there are a bunch of things to consider (see above mention of neutral answers). I mentioned too that her male companion drove the vehicle away from the scene and the Geico agent said that was true but she's claiming that it was a "drivable total". A drivable total from a 30MPH or less accident in which the corner of her car struck the wheel and only the wheel on my car and popped my suspension?!?! I guess if her car was a total piece of crap, which it didn't appear to be, and the damages totaled more than half of the Blue Book value it would be a "drivable total". Unless her front end was crushed and she has engine/cooling damage, I can't see how her car was "totalled" from the angle she hit me. Fortunately the Geico rep gave me the impression that he thinks she's full of crap and there's still more to be done. Geico needs to look at her vehicle I assume and will have to talk to her again. I thought this was pretty much over and that my insurance rate would go up in a few months, I guess nothing is that simple.

Anyway, that's enough for now. Later.

Yeah!!! Got my car back yesterday!!! It looks really nice, you couldn't tell there was anything wrong with it. Same goes for how it drives. The repair shop did an amazing job. Total cost was in the $2600 range, of which I had to pay $500 because of my deductible. Now to see how much my insurance goes up, but that won't be known for a few months when my policy is renewed.

Went to dinner at a place called Agora located in Irvine, CA. It's a Brazillian steakhouse type of place. The link has a bunch of information, but in a nutshell there is no menu and waiters walk around with meat and if you want whatever they have you leave your little card green and if not flip it to the red side. The food was phenominal and me being me, I had to try every one of the 12 or so different meats they had. The tri-tip was excellent where as the pork and chicken were very much on the dry side. At $35 per person (tax and tip excluded) it's a great value. In addition to the various meats, the salad bar was extensive as was the side dish bar which included a good 8 or so hot sides. I will definately be going again.

That'll do it for now. Later.

Happy belated birthday to me! I took yesterday and today off to celebrate my birthday alone. I don't like making a big deal out of it because it's merely another day. So for the most part I did nothing. Played some WoW and some Kingdom Hearts 2, made dinner as usual, watched a little television and answered a couple phone calls/emails by people wishing me a happy birthday. A bunch of people throughout the years were all like "You have the coolest birthday. 420 ftw!!!". I didn't know what the significance was until about 10 years ago. I had always thought people thought sharing a birthday with Hitler or Carmen Electra was cool. *shrugs* So All in all an uneventful day which is what I wanted all along. A couple people left messages which was nice and people I haven't spoken to in quite sometime sent e-cards which was equally as nice. Not everyone remembers either which is okay too especially since I don't like making a big deal about it, but at the same time it does hurt a little inside to seem forgotten. I guess I'm human after all.

This year I got a watch I wanted and tickets to see The Pageant of the Masters and some DVDs. What I really wanted was to have my car back, but as of this past Tuesday, they were still waiting on a part from Mazda. Though it's probably a good thing given the price of gas is at $3.18 a gallon for the cheap stuff as of yesterday. The rising cost this time blamed on not enough trucks to transport the ethanol additive that's replacing MTBE. Whatever.

As I mentioned wednesday, the draft lottery was yesterday and the Blues retained the first overall pick. This means that the Penguins receive the second overall pick which is a good thing :) There were a couple of coaching changes and player signings, but I don't want to talk about them. As a matter of fact, I don't want to talk about anything right now and I'm going to go.

Have a good weekend all. Later.

04.19.2006
I had my birthday dinner a day or weekend early. I decided that I really wanted some sort of shellfish for dinner and went with a place that I've never been to before called King's Fish House. Overall the place wasn't bad. There's a patio area and I opted to sit out there. Coupled with the New England Clam Bake I ordered, it felt a lot like home when I was little. We use to do steamers every summer and sit on the patio and devour them with warm drawn butter. Amazing, I do have a 'happy' memory of being younger. Granted the memory is one of a single moment brought on by a combination of events, but it's still a small positive surrounded by not so happy times.

Enough about that. A quick sports update, Sidney Crosby got his 100th point earlier in the week becoming the youngest player ever to reach that point. The season ended yesterday with the Penguins finishing second to last overall by a single point. The last place honor goes to the St. Louis Blues. We'll see how the draft lottery goes and if the Blues retain their right to the first draft pick in this year's draft.

That's all for now, Later.

04.13.2006
Just got off the phone with the repair center. Parts have been ordered!!!! My wheel was sent to a refinisher and there's a 50/50 chance that it can be refinished. If not, they will order a new wheel from Mazda. The fender that was hit needed to be replaced and has already been replaced. The repair guy Frank (I know I name everything Frank, but I'm not making this up, his name is Frank), said because of sheet metal prices and all that it was more cost effective to replace the front fender ($132) rather than hammer it out and rematch the paint. The insurance company agreed and so that was done. As for the damage done we already know about the wheel and fender, in addition to that the strut, knuckle and hub are all being replaced. Once that is done the car goes to the alignment shop and that will tell them if anything else is wrong. Hopefully nothing else is wrong and I'll get my car back in perfect working condition this coming week.

That's all I have for now so Later.

Okay, a 2 part rant. Well like one part rant and the other is a WTF?! First part: The Rant. So here it is, Monday and as of a message left on my machine at home this past Friday, my car should have arrived at the garage to be evaluated and repaired. This according to the Geico guy that left the message at approximately 245pm. He stated that if it didn't arrive before they closed Friday that it would be scheduled for inspection and such first thing Monday morning. Well today is Monday and what do I get? I get a call saying that I have an 1115am appointment and the vehicle isn't there! So I call them back and ask them what's up and the woman says she's going to look for it and call me back. As of writing this she still hasn't called back and that was approximately an hour ago. So much for an "express shop" with a "Geico agent on site" as Geico told me Thursday when I reported the accident and asked what they wanted me to do.

Now for the WTF?! WTF is the deal with gas prices? This morning on the way to work the price near my house was $2.91 a gallon. Was there a hurricane off the coast again? Did a tanker or two blow up? A couple of refineries shut down by chance? It's just ridiculous how high it's gotten for no apparent reason at all. At this rate if there is a hurricane or other natural event that messes up production/refinement/delivery then the $5+ gouging that happened after Katrina will be a reality.

That's enough for now. I'll write a little more later when I find out what's up with my car. Later.

Okay so here's the deal. I called Geico and spoke to a claims representative and while I'm not happy, I got an answer. Geico called the tow yard Friday and they didn't have the paperwork work done so Geico said they'd call back. By the time they called back, the tow yard was closed. Because of all that my car isn't being picked up until either later today or tomorrow at the latest and thus won't be looked at until then. The good news is that because I gave the tow yard permission to release the vehicle to Geico on Thursday and Geico failed to call them back promptly, Geico is paying the storage fees at no cost to me. So that's all I have at the moment and I hope to be getting a call tomorrow for them to say what exactly is damaged and needs to be repaired.

Later, again.

04.07.2006
Look another entry for this year! I stayed home yesterday because I haven't been feeling well. Allergies, other people sick at work, etc. all of it combined took its toll on me. I was feeling better later in the afternoon. So why an entry a day later for being sick? To which I'll reply that today's rant is brought to you by the letters F and A. Why those specific letters? Because yesterday I got into a small accident in which I was making a legal left hand turn and an impatient lady decides to pass someone turning right from where I was coming from and proceeds to hit me. With my window up I can hear this woman screaming "Fuck..." over and over so I roll my window down because it's as of yet unsafe to open my door. I'm about to ask her if she's okay and I'm treated to her screaming over and over again "You fucking asshole look what you did to my car! I need this car!" At that point I rolled my window back up and waited for the police to arrive. So the letters F and A have to do with...well I assume you already figured that out.

"You think the stories over but it's ready to begin" appropriate Beastie Boys lyric. Police and fire show up, statements are given, her car is drivable and mine we aren't sure about. It looks like my front axle may be busted. Lovely given the car is barely a year old. We'll see what the insurance people and the repair shop say. Which leads me to the insurance company. I call them when I get home yesterday and give them the police report number and my account of the accident. They let me know that they will email me their findings and such. About 2 hours later I already have email from them stating that I was found at fault because I didn't "Yield to oncoming traffic". What? One guy is turning, the only vehicle I see until the other driver darts out from around them and hits me, yet I'm at fault for not yielding when I stopped at my stop sign, the light for that street I turned onto was red and I'm faulted after 2 hours? Whatever. I'll be calling the insurance company after work at sometime to see what other information they have because I did hear a woman talking to an officer on the scene who said I almost hit her as well. So that means she had her signal on and wasn't turning if I almost hit her. Otherwise I'd have gotten hit twice the way I see it. *shrugs* Whatever, I have a feeling it won't matter much and that essentially accidents happen. That was what I was thinking though until I was repeatedly called a "fucking asshole" over and over again.

So I guess that's about it. Car could be out of commission for a while. My insurance is going to be going up. I have a $500 deductible so there's an expense I hadn't counted on. Good thing I got an okay bonus from work. Oh yeah, it's the first moving vehicle accident I've been in since I was 17, so you figure almost 16 years at this point.

Happy Friday everyone. Have a good weekend. Later.

03.17.2006
Okay, it's been a while since I've posted, quite a few months actually. Various things have happened, but most are the normal mundane events that make up life. So what's got me all fired up and needing to post today? I'll tell you...St. Patrick's Day. You may ask "Tony, why is St. Patrick's Day pissing you off?" And I'll reply with it being this whole obsession with green. Not everyone is Irish so what's the deal with everyone asking "where's your green?" or "why aren't you wearing green, it's St. Patrick's Day?" I'm not Irish why should I wear green? Why should I wear green in support of Irish people on one day of the year? Do Irish people wear whatever color in support of me? Or in support of any other nationality/religion? I didn't think so. Shut up, sit down and deal with that not everyone is Irish nor cares about the green thing.

I'll stop with that because I could go on a tear about religious ties to the origin of St. Patrick's Day, how the first St. Patrick's Day Parade was not in Ireland, but in the USA, that the Irish started using the holiday to promote tourism beginning in 1995 where prior to that all bars and pubs were closed, etc. Instead here's a brief overview of the past few months in no particular order...got a promotion at work...my father made a half-assed attempt at suicide presumably for attention that landed him in the hospital for a while as well as knocking him off the sobriety wagon after 3 years sober...had a short trip home during Superbowl weekend and pleasantly surprised quite a few people...wore my kilt in public for the first time (and it was well received :) )...got to hang out with Eddie for a little while and talk about the direction of the band and such...renewed my CPR/AED/First Aid certifications...

I think that's about it really or atleast the stuff that I'm going to share ;) Unless I think of more throughout the day all I can say is Later.

09.30.2005
Okay it's been a while since I've posted anything. Mostly because there's not much to ramble on about and by the time I have a few interesting things to speak about, I forget them or can't figure out the few key words I write on a sticky note. Then there's today. It's currently a little after 630am and I'm at work. Only here half a day because things need to be done, projects are happening, etc. So anyway, I get up at the mid-back of dawn which is earlier than the ass crack of dawn because it's still dark. I shower, do my thing, get dressed and head out. So far the day is all good. Nothing's blown up, broken or otherwise pissed me off. I go to the garage and open it, still nothing and what's outside? A kitty. An average sized black and white cat is looking at me as it peers into the garage and realizes that my garage isn't its garage. Instead of going straight to my car I have a little chat with it and it starts meowing and finally walks away back to its own house. Again so far so good. I get into my car, back out, close the garage door and proceed to work. I've actually made it about a mile so far and not one "fucker" in any form has escaped my lips or even entered my mind. I noticed this morning that gas prices went up 6 cents over night. The gas station I usually get gas at was $2.92 a gallon when I came home last night and $2.98 this morning.

Could it be that Tony actually has an okay and even free commute this morning? Nope. Douche bag in a house painting truck doesn't know how to properly secure items he's carrying and while passing someone an empty paint pail flies out of the back and lands in front of me. I have no time to swerve, no place to go if I did swerve given there was a car on the right of me and a row of trees to my left. I couldn't slam on my brakes due to the asshole that came out of nowhere and decided that my trunk looked like a nice place to visit. Needless to say, I hit the bucket and of course, it became wedged under my car. I pull over and look under my car and there it is, wedged all snug under my car and it's not coming out. Not having anything to dislodge it, I ponder driving up on the curb a little and end up saying screw it and just drive.

With no one behind me I'm driving all over the road, trying to dislodge the damned thing and it's not working. The smell of heated plastic is starting to give me a headache and I turn into a store parking lot. Not really having a plan, I see the little gullies that they use for drainage out here and straddle the car over one and the bucket is free! The bucket also got its ass kicked, broken and all melty on the side that was dragged on the pavement. That problem taken care of, I make my way to work without much more than a frown at yet another douche bag who doesn't know how to use a blinker. We won't go there today though.

A quick rundown of events that I can remember over the past couple of weeks...finished management training which wasn't that bad, but we'll see what I can use in my current role. I did get a nice little certificate though :) . Gas prices leveled out and then, as I said earlier, came back up close to the $3 point again. Heard from another friend in the hurricane devastated south and all is good there. Spoke to my dad last week finally, it had been a while since I got ahold of him and everything seems to be good. He's on a new medication that he says is working. He also recently had his 2.5 year anniversary for being sober. I'm really happy and proud of him for that. This coming February will be 3 years from him. Grats pops. ... Ken and Jodi got engaged a couple weeks ago. Another thing for me to be happy about. Holy crap! Two happy things in a row and in the same post! A new record? ;)

I guess that will be it for now. Maybe I'll post again after the weekend and if not, oh well :) Be safe all...later.

09.12.2005
So I have this onsite seminar titled "Interaction Management Training" scheduled from the 13th through the 15th. My normal hours are from 7ish to 330ish Monday through Friday. This training is scheduled from 8 to 5. I work the hours I work for a few reasons, one of which being traffic. The traffic is far lighter at 330 or 4 than it is at 5...lighter traffic, less stress for Tony. Less stress for Tony, Tony is happy and everyone is happy because Tony doesn't turn into an asshole. Anyway, I and the rest of us in the class were notified of this like wednesday afternoon. Thank you for the heads up! So now I have to reschedule a few things, leave later, have lunch earlier than usual and take longer (though rumor has it that we get paid overtime for the added hours and paid for lunch so that's cool). Now here's the kicker, HR scheduled and coordinated with the Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive. This was about 6-8 weeks ago when posters and emails were sent. Being the good boy that I am and being eligible to donate blood since I've not gotten a tattoo in the past year, I signed up. Guess when the blood drive is? Tomorrow. Guess what the coordinator of the training suggest I do about it? Yup, reschedule my appointment to go during lunch. How many things am I supposed to reschedule? HR set both of these up, one would figure that they would say "Hey, we have the Blood Drive tomorrow, let's do the training next week". Nope, didn't happen. Irritating if you ask me. Wait, you didn't ask me, I just told you :D

This past weekend was nice. Didn't do anything. Got the cable working again. The box was fine, it just decided that it didn't want to go through the surge suppressor anymore and wanted to be direct connected. If we take a hit and it blows my television up, the cable company gets to pay for it. I didn't see The Exorcism of Emily Rose like I had wanted. Just wasn't in the mood to go anywhere really. I am planning on seeing the Corpse Bride friday though. It should be all good. Stop motion animation is cool and Tim Burton is the man.

Not that football matters much, especially with hockey starting in less than three weeks, but it was a crappy weekend for me since I'm a Jets and Vikings fan. The Jets got their asses handed to them and the Vikings got half their asses handed to them. Much ass handing was done. It's only football :) In hockey news, Lemieux signed as did Crosby, which is no surprise, but both Al MacInnis and Mark Messier retired this weekend/today. Sucks. Messier had to play like 10 games total to break two different records. What sucks more is Al retiring. Al is by far one of my favorite players. How can you not like the little defenseman who has a 100 MPH slap shot? The announcers are always making comments about players that actually purposely get in front of Al's shots to help prevent a goal. It's pretty nuts when you think about it. Al's broken people's feet and ankles inadvertently when they don't move fast enough and get hit by the puck. So yeah, let's lay down in front of the shot. DUCK AND COVER!!!!! He's also bruised goalies and they're the most heavily armored players in the game. Pretty messed up when a goalie takes of his glove after making a save. Mr. MacInnis, you will be missed by players and fans alike (probably not goalies though :) ).

Okay, that's all for now...later

09.08.2005
Okay, just a small rant...

Why are people so pigheaded when it comes to politics? Not even people, but Republicans? Every Republican that I know is "Bush this and Bush that" and "Clinton sucks and Democrats suck". I understand supporting your party, but come on, no one's perfect! Just those few statements I just made would label me a Democrat, yet I'm not. Republicans would also find something else to call me or just toss me into the "You're not a Republican then you're wrong" group. I've voted third party the most, followed by Republican and lastly Democrat. I think actually I've only ever voted Democrat twice...one local town election and then again for a Senator. Presidential elections I've always voted 3rd party and knowing what I know now I'd still vote 3rd party. *ponders* Now that I think about it, I take back the "every Republican" thing. There's one off the top of my head that I can think of who not only voted for Clinton, but I beleive they voted for him twice and they are a registered Republican. Some Republicans would say they're not a true Republican, I say that they're a true American by voting for who they think will do the best job regardless of the letter following their name.

Enough politics. I'm on my way home, almost there with less than a mile left to go actually, when I see this guy trying to merge after turning onto the road. I'm not in a hurry and trying to be nice, I slow down and wave to him/her. They haven't gone yet and are still signalling to get over so I flash them and wave yet again, still slowing so they have time to get in front of me and get going. I'm getting closer and closer, finally down to about 25 MPH and waving like a mad man for the guy to hurry up. The car behind me is slowing too and next you know I'm about crawling and the guy still hasn't gone yet, before I even have time to pull my foot off the brake and put it on the accelerator, I hear screaching tires and horns. Looking in my mirror I see three cars all locking up behind the one behind me. WTF people?!?!?! How hard is it not to ride someone's bumper, actually do the speed limit and pay attention? The guy finally goes and we all continue on our way, people giving me dirty looks and the guy behind me also. So why do I feel like the asshole when I was trying to be courteous? Why am I the bad guy because one guy doesn't know how to merge and three others don't know how to pay attention, drive the speed limit and drive without tailgating? I guess that's what I get for trying to be nice. Everyone can piss off for all I care now. I see someone wanting to merge and I'll keep on going. Maybe give them a little nod of the head to show that I did indeed see them, but since being nice equals being an asshole in most people's minds, I'd rather just continue on my way.

I'm glad the weekend is about here...later.

09.06.2005
Yeah yeah, I know I didn't post anything at all over the long weekend, but crap happens. I took friday off and did nothing. I wanted to sleep in and didn't. It seems that everytime I take a day off someone has to do something outside my window. Last time it was cutting slate tile, this time shrubs...at 7am!!! So friday I spent not doing much, poking around online, reading a couple comics and generally grumpy because of very little sleep. Friday night however, I got a really good deal on a smaller laptop than my previous one, which I had sold for various reasons (size, lack of portability, etc.). This laptop is strictly a 'backup' type of computer. A glorified DVD player, cd burner and general beater, nothing more. 14" Toshiba with a 1.5GHz M chip, 1GB RAM (first thing I did when I got it home was upgrade the RAM from 512MB), 80GB hard drive, wireless G, that's about it.

Saturday I did nothing more than play Warcraft and mess around with the laptop. I should stress test it just to see what it can handle. I'll toss WoW on it and see how it likes it. It'd be a kick in the nuts if it performed as well as my desktop!

Sunday was spent cleaning my room, organizing comics and upgrading my router. I decided to pick up a wireless Super G router and about an hour after getting it home, had my old router put away, cables rolled up and was running the laptop from anywhere I wanted in the house.

Oh yeah! Stupid cable television issue on saturday. I take a break from WoW and grab some food, turn the tv on to be greeted by a blue Tivo screen saying something messed up somewhere and do this and that. So I do this and that as prompted by the screen and nothing. SO I do this and that again figuring I screwed up this or that and just wanted to make sure. Nope, I did everything right and still it didn't work. Just to make sure cable wasn't out, which why would it if I've been online all day, I tried the tv on my computer and it worked fine. So back downstairs and tried this and that one more time and then called the cable company. Ran through their automated service and that didn't work so I ran through it again and nothing happened. Calling them back I spoke to someone living, they had me do all the stuff I already did with the same results. They came back with the genius reply of "We'll need to schedule an appointment to have a tech come out and look at it". Duh! The earliest time that they had was this coming friday. "Please feel free to plug the cable directly into the back of the tv and enjoy channels 1-100 while waiting for the tech". Hey, thank you very much! What about crediting my account for the week I don't have full access to all the channels I don't watch anyway?

No more bitching about cable. My friend has been found! She wasn't near the storm at all and apologized for not getting back sooner. A couple of her cousins were unfortunately affected by the storm and it sounds like they lost their homes :( Please scroll back to my last entry for the links I had provided for charitable donations and for finding survivors. If you can't donate because of your own financial hardships, please donate blood. You'll make more :)

This is kind of funny actually and damned true: www.illwillpress.com/kat.html

September is here and with Labor Day this weekend, it will more than likely make this weekend more special, atleast once the hurricane disaster becomes a memory.

Finally other countries are stepping up and offering aid. Reuters reported earlier that more than 20 countries have offered help. While that pleases me, the article also said that "...the United States initially seemed reticent about accepting foreign aid, but later said it would take up any offers." What kind of crap is that? With the amount of damage, lives lost, etc. that Hurricane Katrina caused the United States doesn't immediately say "Thank you for your generous offer, please send what you can" or something to that effect. It's one thing to be proud of who you are, your nation and want to portray that strength, but crap happens and there are times when you need to suck it up and take help where it's given. Especially with how much aid is lent to other countries by us. President Bush was quoted as saying "I'm not expecting much from foreign nations because we hadn't asked for it. I do expect a lot of sympathy and perhaps some will send cash dollars. But this country's going to rise up and take care of it". I really can't wait for him to be out of office. Even though he said that, countries are offering help and we are accepting it. Things will get better in LA and MS as stability and the rebuilding process begins. It may take months as most predict and even years, but it will happen.

I found this site earlier today that has a bunch of charities, what they do, etc. so people can donate to the charity that they feel most comfortable with. Here's the link networkforgood.com

Here are a couple of links to find survivors and if you happen to be reading this and are a survivor, places to post:

I hope these help. I've also seen a couple of different ribbons and wrist bands in support of victims from the hurricane. White, blue, white and blue, grey and multi-colored are the different ones I've seen and I have no idea if there's an "official" ribbon or not.

I don't have much to say yet, it's still early in the day so who knows what will happen throughout the day. Yesterday gas prices started to rise around here and as of this morning $2.90 a gallon for the "cheap" stuff seemed to be the average. I was on the phone with my aunt back in MA and she said that gas at the station near her rose 40 cents from monday to tuesday. That's just nuts. The price went from $2.39 to $2.79 and she said that one station that hadn't risen yet was causing traffic problems at the center of town and police were called up to direct traffic. Bush is supposed to release some of the reserves which will help right now while they repair and get the oil rigs running, but for the Northeast and lake areas, it's going to impact home heating oil this winter. Hopefully they'll see a mild winter.

I emailed and called a couple of places including the Red Cross about volunteering to help out in Louisiana and Mississippi, but they politely said "just send money". They didn't care that I'm a trained, certified and nationally recognized fire fighter, they merely wanted cash donations. You can go to www.redcross.org to make donations. I'll warn you now, the sites getting some heavy traffic and may take a while for the page to load.

I still haven't heard from my friends yet. With the loss of power, damage to everything and all, I'm just trying to stay positive. I'm sure they are fine and everything's just really chaotic right now. We already know that I get worked up over the littlest things at time :(

Non-depressing stuff...I finished The Thousand Orcs last night and will start The Lone Drow today/tonight. The Thousand Orcs was pretty good. Not having read any of the Icewindale books in a long time and not having finished the last trilogy that R.A. Salvatore wrote, it took me a little while to remember everything that had happened as well as having to piece things together from not reading that last book. It was a pretty good book all in all and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. I went to Barnes & Noble last weekend to buy the third book and they were sold out. I'll take a trip over this coming weekend maybe if I end up seeing the Transporter 2. We'll see.

Okay, I'm on my way home from work and the gas station that was $2.90 this morning is $2.98!!! I heard on the news that gas prices are projected to increase until the middle of next week or so and may get into the $3.50 to $3.75 range per gallon.

I do have a small rant, I'll keep it brief...these countries that are sending letters to Bush or making public statements saying they are sorry. A "sorry note" doesn't cut it in my eye when we, we being the USA, send aid in the form of money and troops to all these other countries when a natural disaster occurs and we get a "sorry". Might as well say "sucks to be you!" I think we should do that with any and all countries that have natural disasters, send them an "Oooops that sucked. Good luck cleaning that up" letter.

I said I was going to be brief with that rant and so I was...Later.

Okay, it's Monday again. I've tried not to let the hurricane bother me, they usually don't even when they've come tear-assin' up the coast to MA and tossed around a bit. It's been a few years since I've been through one and usually by the time they've hit MA, they've died out and are pretty much tropical storms. Though a few have managed to make it full strength and we won't get into the whole Nor'easter thing. Now I only have to contend with earthquakes, fires, land slides, mudslides and that's about it. It should be easy not to get all stressed out over a hurricane right? Wrong. I worry about friends I've made these past years that live in Louisiana. Not knowing how they are fairing, how close the storm got to them and their families, how much it affected them, has me stressing something fierce.

Watching the news, reading it on the internet and visiting the weather channel online hasn't done much to alleviate fears. I have learned some things while trying to distract myself. A key fact being that New Orleans hasn't always been below sea level. Since man decided to stop the Mississippi River from overflowing by creating levees. Turns out that when the river overflows it actually builds up the land by depositing fine silt. No overflowing, no land replacement and thus a city that keeps sinking lower and lower. I guess Mother Nature decided to let people know you can't stop her...if she can't flood the land to replace it, she'll find other ways to do it.

My thoughts go out to all those who have been displaced, lost their homes, belongings and family members.

The weekend, other than hurricane induced anxiety was okay. I don't have glaucoma and everything looks really good the ophthalmologist said. I could have told him that. Depending on my mood when I go for my yearly eye exam, I may tell my optometrist that I knew I was fine as well. *shrugs*

Penguins news...Dick Tarnstrom was awarded 1.6 million in arbitration and the Penguins said he was worth it and signed him to a 1-year deal. That doesn't mean they won't trade him, but they don't lose him to free agency which is a good thing. He's a good player and should atleast get something in return if they were to lose him.

Again, my thoughts and well wishes to those impacted by hurricane Katrina. I hope relief arrives soon and that the gov't through FEMA, the Red Cross and volunteers get everyone back to their homes quickly and safely.

Later.

I'm going to try something new. When I have a thought or spare moment to jot it down, I'm going to. It might make my 'Opinions' section a bit more opinionated.

So here it is, Friday and I'm planning on seeing The Brothers Grimm after work today. I popped over to yahoo to see what times it's playing at so I can plan ahead a bit. While there, I decided to pop over to the reviews area and just glance at the overall grade critics and users rate it. Before I did that however, I found myself clicking on March of the Penguins. Something you all should know, I don't ever read positive reviews. The reason being that I'm already interested enough to see the movie, read the book, listen to the CD or whatever so I don't need or want to be persuaded to spend the time or money. What I read are the negatives. Regardless of what people say, it's only their opinion, as these words are mine and I understand that everyone is entitled to their own. It irritates me to no end when someone gives the following type of review: "This movie really really really really sucks. Don't waste your time or money. It really really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then there's the ever more uneducated: "don't go cuz it's retarded and i wanted 2 shoot myself cuz dieing wud b better then watching this movie" Yes, the spelling and grammar were intentional on my part. I don't claim to be the most intelligent or grammatically correct person in the world, but come on people, if you are going to take the time to post your opinion for everyone to see atleast have a point and speak properly. Give reason for your views: "I didn't particularly care for the chemistry between actors A and B. Each lined seemed forced and had little or no feeling. Visually the movie was stunning, but bad camera angles made me feel a bit disorientated. All in all the movie was very mediocre and while I might want my money back, others still may enjoy it." Is something like that so difficult? "It sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Yeah yeah, whatever.

I'm back from the movies and The Brothers Grimm wasn't bad at all. There were a couple of special effects that were poor, but only because they were sharper than the rest of the movie. Great color by the way, felt very Tim Burton-ish...dark and muted, like Sleepy Hollow. The movie is worth seeing so at the least it's a rental. Though if you like the full effect, the louder sound, etc. then check it out as a matinee. One of the previews they played before the movie was The Excoricsim of Emily Rose. I was kind of borderline on wanting to see it, and now I definately do. It's very fucked up looking, like make you all sorts of jumpy and get the chills kind of fucked up.

Going to go, want to play some WoW before I crash...Later

08.24.2005
Long week and still have 2 more days to go!!! Yesterday was my glaucoma test. If the general test I had a few months back said I had a really good field of vision, then what's the point? I can understand taking pictures of my optic nerve just to have that checked every year, but to have me do the little light test was a waste of time. I'll know in a couple weeks how I did. I probably did crapy because the test really tires your eyes out and I would see the little pin points of light go out and not on sometimes.

Today was sexual harassment 101. It wasn't as bad as I had thought. Three hours of any lecture/training kind of thing can be pretty boring, but this wasn't. I'm still not to clear on how the people who make the vingettes get that one thing is harassment and the other is not, or how we are supposed to know what it is when there is more to the story than just the 10 seconds they show. There's a test we had to take because it's all state mandated. All manager type people have to go through it as I mentioned in an earlier entry. So that's over and done with and maybe now I can get some work done this week.

Still working on, well sorta working on, pictures and links. I don't just want to throw the few images up that I'm going to post and have them either take forever to view or look like crap because there's no form to them.

There are a bunch of rumors surrounding the Penguins about trading Morozov and Tarnstrom both. I don't think it's such a great idea, but if they need to clear salary so they can get another key forward then they have to do what they have to do. Sometimes fans don't see the big picture like the owners, GMs and coaches all do. That's why we're only fans :)

Guess that'll do it...Later.

08.20.2005
It's saturday, but I still feel like crap. Yesterday my head went all fuzzy and stuffy feeling around 10am and haven't felt even close to 100% since. I took a Claratin, a bunch of Tylenol 8 Hour, some Advil...yeah, a bunch of stuff, and nothing is really working. It could be worse, I could want to stab myself repeatedly in the face because of a migraine. Fortunately, I don't have one...yet.

I'm kind of feeling like writing this is a task. It's not fun and I don't like feeling obligated, so I'm not saying that I'm going to stop entirely, but I think the frequency will be less. Maybe once a week unless something noteable happens. It's not as if anything terribly exciting goes on. My life is rather boring, which isn't really a bad thing :)

My case of Star Wars Miniatures came today. Six booster packs that contain 1 huge figure and like 7 small ones. I didn't get the rancor that I was hoping for, but fortunately I didn't get anything I already had. Did get a hailfire droid and the barc speeder as well as a tusken on bantha. All definately cool. For the regular sized figures I got the new Chewie! Plus Vader, Maul, and a few others that made it worth it, especially when I sell them on ebay after getting the 2 figures I wanted most (AT-ST and Chewie).

Finished that book I was reading A Long Way Down. It was okay, kind of depressing and actually, when I think about it, the ending was just eh. After I finished it, I started another called The Thousand Orcs. It's book one of The Hunter's Blades Trilogy. So far it's all good, atleast 100 pages in it is. We all know how books can take a change at any time.

I'm going to go...Later.

08.17.2005
It's been a couple days and that's pretty much why I'm writing. I'm incredibly tired as of late for some reason. I've been sleeping okay, but just exhausted. Normally if someone told me that they were tired, I'd say they need to eat more red meat. I highly doubt that I need to eat anymore red meat than I already do.

Yesterday Sin City came out on DVD. Best Buy was selling it for $16.99 while Circuit City and CompUSA had it for $14.99. So I took the flyer into Best Buy and asked them to price match which they did. I don't know why they just don't lower their prices to begin with? I can't be the only one who notices week in and week out. So anyway, it's only 1 DVD, nothing really special which sucks. I like deleted scenes, blooper reels and the rest of the stuff you usually get. I'm guessing that in a month or two, a director's cut will be released. Speaking of releases, Batman Begins will be released to DVD on October 18th. Two different versions will be for sale, the first being pretty much the movie while the second will be a 2 DVD edition that includes around 75 minutes of extra stuff. Can't wait :) Did my normal 4 mile walk yesterday too.

I did stop at the comic store today and learned that the Star Wars miniature game's new expansion comes out tomorrow. Jumbo packs with the larger creatures/vehicles in them. If the other miniature games are any indication, they'll be $20 per booster box. I don't play the game anymore, but I want a rancor and an AT-ST so I'll more than likely buy a couple over the next few weeks.

Penguins news...they signed John Leclair monday! I made a joke asking if they were going to rename the team to the Pittsburgh Flyers. I can't wait for the season to start and for the Penguins to once again hoist the cup. I know it's only a dream, but everytime they sign someone, they get one step closer to having their names inscribed on Lord Stanley. Go Pens!!!

For those in other parts of the country who would like some perspective. I stopped for gas on the way home and spent $32.50 on 11.447 gallons of REGULAR gas which equates to $2.839 per gallon. This is the "cheap" stuff. The good thing is that I get almost 2 weeks off a full tank.

I guess that's about it. I'm tired and have a couple of bills to pay so...Later.

08.14.2005
Well, the weekend is over and I did about jack and shit. No movies this weekend, no notable hockey news (that translates to the Penguins not acquiring or moving players), so all and all a rather uneventful weekend. This does suit me just fine so don't take it as me complaining.

I did walk 4 miles today. It was really really nice out. No sun, overcast and looking like it wanted to pour, but as per usual California weather, it didn't do anything. I really really miss thunderstorms. Don't get me wrong, being able to grill everyday without having to do it in your garage, being able to take a walk or plana picnic or whatever without having to worry about the weather cooperating is really nice, but I still miss thunderstorms. The last one we did have ruled though. Rattled the hell out of the windows and set many car alarms off, repeatedly. The lightning was so intense and lasted so long that you could almost read a page in a book. The storm lasted maybe 20 minutes, rained for about 3 and that was it. I believe that was in February of this year. The previous storm to that was the first summer here.

I bought Killer Queen - A Tribute to Queen on friday. It's not that bad. A couple of interesting variations of tracks, but all in all pretty good. There are 2 different versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" one of them by The Flaming Lips. Breaking Benjamin does a cover of "Who Wants to Live Forever" that's pretty damned cool. I think that's why I bought the CD, I really like that band. If you don't have their CD, I suggest buying it. Every track on it is solid. The same goes for The Killers. Go buy them now!!!

Ummmm...yeah. I need food...Later.

08.11.2005
Today was an interesting day. Well maybe not, but it's all good. Went to work as usual and did my thing. Had a company wide meeting to explain quarterly results and/or answer questions. All in all there weren't any questions, we had a crappy quarter because of how much money was spent on the restatement of financials, SOX compliance, etc. Also got a nice little bonus for completing 5 years of service with my company and a little wall plaque. Granted my 5 year was in March, but it's all good still to be recognized.

Comic store credit/debit card machine was busted so I couldn't get my comics today. That kind of sucked, but it's not like I don't have a stack to read already or anything. I tend to let them build up sometimes and end up with like 20 or more to read. I still have a bunch to bag, board and file as well. I'll try to get to the store this weekend, if not they will hold the ones in my box for me until next week.

Oh yeah! On my walk today, another 4 miles, I found a dead spider. Yeah so? you say, but I'm loking at it and think to myself that it might be a special spider. No no, it wasn't wearing a hockey helmet, spiders don't do that in real life. Anyway, I turn it over and sure enough it has a little red hourglass on its abdomen. It was a black widow. Me being me, I put it in a piece of litter I found near by and brought it home to take pictures. I have the pictures, but I'm still working on the whole format thing for the picture area.

Bake sale...knew I forgot something. The bake sale went well. Somewhere around $250 was raised off of baked items that ranged in price from fifty cents to $2. A few people actually bought some of the pink awareness bracelets that were being sold for $10 donations. I think another bake sale will be planned for the end of the month because of how well it went over. I still have to get a link... ...okay, I found it myself and here it is: San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day. All donations are tax deductable and forms are somewhere on the site for downloading and printing. Feel free to send the link to friends and family, it's for a really good cause.

On that note...Later.

08.10.2005
Correction to yesterday's post...Sean Burke was not signed by the penguins. Turns out that thefourthperiod.com jumped the gun with the story. He actually signed with Tampa Bay. The Penguins did however sign a goalie today, Jocelyn Thibault. This actually may be a better thing for the Penguins. Thibault is a better goalie all in all and will be more than happy to share net time with Fleury while also being a role model/mentor for him.

Happy Humpday! Today is wednesday and the work day is done. A couple of meetings, some more truck stuff and then baking when I got home. We're having a bake sale at work tomorrow as a fund raiser thing for the 3-day walk to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. I'll post a link tomorrow when I remember to get it so that anyone that wants to can donate. For those that know me and before you say it, yes I know I hate baking, but it's for a good cause so I made mini cheesecakes.

Not much progress in WoW. Mostly been chatting as all the things I need to do require groups or big people. Being a mage and needing equipment sucks lol. I hate depending on people for stuff like that and I appreciate everything that those few do to help me. One day I hope they will call on me for help so I can return the favor. Oh! Almost forgot...there's a rumor floating around that characters will be transferable to different servers at some point other than just for population thinning. I don't play my original character that much because the PvP server isn't really all that fun. General servers still have PvP but it's more controlled and allows a player to explore the game versus just hurry up and get to 60 so you can PvP on equal footing.

That's enough for today...Later.

08.09.2005
Well it's the start of another week. Yes yes it's tuesday, but since I didn't write yesterday, and it is my site, it's the start of a new week :) So here I sit, trying to figure out what to write, what's new, etc.

Shhhh listen....can you hear that? It's the people across the courtyard speaking at their usual loud tone. Today the woman is bitching about not booking the proper car rental for her trip and having to call and change it. The tragedy! It's so difficult to pick up the phone and say "Hey, I want to reserve this vehicle instead of this other one. Please do that. Thanks." So terribly hard to do. I realize I'm not the quietest or most soft spoken person around, but these people are loud and I do know when I'm crossing the line from excitement (about everything) to bothering other people. I know close to everythng about these people from the woman's tax mishap last year, to her boyfriend's surgery a few months ago to their trip to hawaii in a few weeks...including who's going, how much it cost, when and where they are staing, etc.

Anyway, enough about them. I finished the artwork for the 3-Day Breast Cancer walk. Once I get the link on where to donate (I sorta can't find it) I'll post the image and a link for any who want to donate. Speaking of walking, it's 1 mile the loop. I walked 4 miles on sunday and another 4 miles today. It's a start and after a couple more weeks I'll head back to the gym and add that into my routine. I'd like to slim down to 200lbs. I feel good at that weight and everyone says I look the best around there.

Sports news...Penguins signed Sean Burke to a 2-year contract. On paper this is a good thing, we'll see how it works out this season. There were a couple of other signings this weekend including Kariya going to Nashville. Kind of sucks that he didn't sign with the Penguins. I honestly don't even know if he was approached by them so not much more to say than that.

Time to go...Later.

08.06.2005
Ah yes, the weekend. After work yesterday I decided I wanted to see Wedding Crashers. It wasn't a bad flick at all, but would have been a better rental. Again, not that it was bad, but just because there's no need to see a movie that isn't full of special effects on a larger screen. *ponders* Though, The Island wasn't good enough to warrant spending even the matinee price to see in the theatre. It's a good rental because it raises some interesting questions and gets you thinking about cloning and it's implications.

Speaking of cloning...I wonder if I should have a little news type section...or maybe just include some of the things I've read and heard about that day. The cloning bringing to mine the first dog cloned and how anti-cloning people are going nuts because they believe that humans are also being cloned now that the dog was a success.

Other news would be that the Penguins signed Ziggy Palffy this weekend making a second rather high profile addition to the team. Sergei Gonchar being the first. The Penguins, in my mind, are going to have a really strong season. Those two plus a healthy Mario and having been able to draft Sidney Crosby...it will be a good year. Hopefully they'll get approval for their new arena. The value of the team has increased substantially as can be seen from the amount of season ticket sales generated the past weeks since the draft. This of course I read as well, but damn if I'm not excited about hockey this year. Too bad the Penguins won't be playing near me this season. They are not playing anyone in the Pacific Division so that eliminates seeing them in Anaheim or L.A. I might end up splurging on an NHL Season Game Pass or whatever it is on television. It's like Showtime or HBO for hockey.

Yes I know the picture area isn't up yet...I'm working on it sort of. Atleast the general areas are up. I just need to figure how I'm going to present it all once an area is selected.

This post sponsored by a nebula. Talk to you all whenever...Later.

08.04.2005
Just a quicky today...let's see...got up, went to work, worked, came home, walked about 3.5 miles...Yeah I guess that's a good thing. Finally starting to exercise again. I figured that when I originally started I had been walking before I went to the gym so let's try that approach again. Today was day one, we'll see what happens from here. Tomorrow I'll try to remember to actually clock how far the route is that I did for a more accurate distance. Eventually adding to it and/or speeding up the amount of time it takes to complete. Either way it's all good.

Tomorrow is friday. Yeah! I don't have anything really planned for the weekend. I should clean my desk up, bag and bored my most recent comics, read those comics and figure out how I'm going to actually post images and such here. I know the process, just don't know how I'm going to make it look navigation wise. That translates into it probably not getting done at all, we'll see.

Like I said, just a quicky today...Later.

08.02.2005
What a crap day today was! First, I went in an hour and a half early to have more time before our database close. Everything was going pretty good and the next thing I know, I'm getting an ass reaming from my boss. Not just a nice quiet reaming, but one in which those in the surrounding area heard and the person I share a cube/area with. Why was I being yelled at you ask? Let me leave it as saying that things were a bit hectic this morning, people didn't have assignments done and thus it somehow reflected on me even after my asking how I'm supposed to handle certain aspects and situations that may arise during the job. Doing what I was told, or suggested and which was pretty much nothing, I got reamed. I was supposed to talk to her after the close, but one guy's last day is tomorrow and I needed to sit with him. One of my team is taking over a manufacturers he had and I needed to know what to expect. After that, a bunch of us needed to get together to discuss a candidate for a vaccant position who interviewed this past thursday which brought us to about 240pm and putting me into overtime. So tomorrow first thing, I probably get another ass reaming, in private and told that I gave attitude, which I not only did not give, but others thought I didn't give as well.

Today is tuesday and tuesday means new movie day. Fortunately for my wallet, there's nothing new on DVD that I want. The longer I go without buying DVDs the longer it takes for me to reach the next milestone which is 200 DVDs. The other thing is that it breaks the habit of me buying movies on tuesday just to buy movies. I really really need to weed out my collection. There's a lot of stuff I don't watch at all and should just sell. I keep saying that though :)

Tomorrow is wednesday, so happy humpday eve to you all...Later.

08.01.2005
Well it's August...yeah! Not really yeah, just wanted to say it. Anyway...slept for crap last night and worked an almost 11 hour day today. All of the Ford trucks had price revisions which made it possible to put the F-150's final. I'm still not done with th 350's, but will be in bright and early tomorrow morning to finish them so they can get proofed for the close. In addition to Ford trucks, all of Mercury, most of Lincoln and all Ford car pricing. Add to that all 2005 and 2006 order guides. Fun fun I tell ya! The next close will be even better. We now close weekly until the end of October...less time to do stuff, but faster updates. It's kind of an odd situation, but *shrugs*

I know I didn't write yesterday, but as I said before, don't care really since no one will read this. Got around to watching Million Dollar Baby on sunday. Really good flick. I won't ruin it for anyone who actually reads this and hasn't seen it. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a rental.

I think that will about do it for this edition of whatever...Later.

P.S. Just added a working link to photos/art...so far nothing is there, but it's a place holder for what is to come....Laters again.

07.30.2005
Not much really to say. Today was rather uneventful, which is a good thing. Too much excitement can be bad for one's health. The Penguins did indeed draft Sidney Crosby and Mario had some interesting things to say. First was mention of a Stanley Cup run this season and the second that he plans to play 3-4 more years. Maybe I'll actually get to see him play again. If he does come through and actually does get the team to the finals, I'll find a way to get there to see atleast one of the final games. Probably not a game seven or a game they win the cup, but a game 2 or 3 or 4 none the less.

I didn't make an entry for yesterday. Nothing noteworthy happened. Nothing really noteworthy happens anyway so no loss, no gain. I did have the day off and did absolutely nothing. I don't even think I left the house which allowed me to finish Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Like I had said, it's an okay book. The end was okay too, but made me want to buy the next one that just came out. Too many things left hanging which was unlike the previous books. The first four closed everything out all neat and tidy at the end, this one did not. I'm not going to ruin it for anyone that is planning on reading them, so I'll stop there.

Speaking of stopping...Later.

07.28.2005
Hey again. It's a new day or night and I'll have to write. Cool, that rhymed just like Inigo and Fezzik from The Princess Bride. Speaking of, I just got back from watching it in the movie theatre. Yes, there's a place here that on thursdays during the summer plays a different classic flick. It's all good, but I can't believe how many adults haven't seen it and how many 'kids' have seen it.

Took tomorrow off just because the movie started at 9pm and I didn't want to have to get up after a few hours. Yeah I guess I'm a pussy, but it's not like I don't have the time right now to take a friday off. It'll probably be my last scheduled day off for a while anyway as it's now the busiest time of the year for us at work.

Work was work except today there was an interview scheduled. Personally I didn't care for the guy, but I don't know what the first people who interviewed him though. I was phase two. We interview, in my department anyway, as teams. Two and two for the first interview. If we think the person would be a good analyst they get a second interview with our department manager. I assume that sometime on monday those of us who interviewed the candidate today will get together and discuss if we think they should be called back for a second interview.

Well anyway, it's that time so...Later.

07.27.2005
Hello all. It's a new day, or in this case evening. This is when I'll probably do most of my entries and/or work on the site itself. I haven't done much at all to the site other than fix the errors I made while experimenting. It's pretty warm out still even as I write this, but not nearly as warm as the past few days. Today has pretty much been a typical day...work, come home, make dinner, play World of Warcraft (WoW) and just relaxing. I worked a little late today. The trucks I was editing should have been done at the end of day on Monday and they just got finished today. I don't really know why they took so long except that my brain is truck fried. Whatever the case may be, they are done though not forgotten. No worries though, I don't have to look at them again for atleast a couple weeks when a new order guide comes out.

It's approaching 9pm and since I like to read for a while before bed, I'm going to end this. What am I reading? I'm ashamed to admit that I'm reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It's an okay book *shrugs*. I finally broke down and started reading them a month ago and since I bought the gift box paperback set, I just figured I'd read them straight through. Speaking of books though, the 11th Wheel of Time book is out in October. I know this is an 'opinion' area of my website, but I'm not even going to get started on the last book and how much it utterly sucked. By last book I mean the Crossroads of Twilight. Bad Robert Jordan bad! If it wasn't for the fact the series is nearly complete and I have read the first 10 books and the prequel, I'd not buy Knife of Dreams. We'll see how that reads as well.

Like I said, I'm saying good night. Later.

Today is the first entry for my whatever you want to call this...blog, diary, whatever. I'm going to do my best to post as often as possible even though odds are good no one will read so...*shrugs* Oh well, it's more for me anyway. :)

As can be seen and as was mentioned before, I started a new website...or redesigned the old one. It's my hope that this one will be a bit more what I had intended since the first time I tried my hand at building a website. This is definitely an improvement even over the previous attempt.

That's enough for today, I'm going to play with style sheets some more. Later.
